Just completed a sale and purchase using Bishopsgate Law Northampton. Initially didn’t have huge expectations as they came out the cheapest of all the quotes I received but I was so wrong! From start to finish I genuinely had a great experience, Jodie and Sofina were my solicitors but I dealt mostly with Jodie. She was always quick to respond to my queries and was honest throughout the process and gave realistic timescales.

We had a poor experience with our previous solicitors for our previous purchase so was really nice to have the opposite experience this time round. Genuinely cannot fault this law firm, especially Jodie and Sofina.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Bishopsgate Law while selling my property. They were acting on behalf of the buyer, yet their lack of communication and poor handling of the transaction ultimately contributed to the sale falling through.

Throughout the process, Bishopsgate Law failed to communicate effectively with either my solicitors or the estate agents. Simple matters that should have been discussed directly between the professional parties were not dealt with appropriately, causing unnecessary delays and confusion.

The final issue arose when I suggested a completion date in an attempt to move the transaction forward. Rather than presenting this as a reasonable proposal, Bishopsgate Law conveyed it to the buyer as some form of threat or ultimatum. This completely misrepresented my position and created unnecessary tension. As a result, the buyer withdrew, and the sale was lost. Although I fear that her intention was always to withdraw and I feel that Bishopsgate Law knew this, hence the constant stalling.

Property transactions require clear, accurate, and professional communication. Unfortunately, my experience with Bishopsgate Law was the opposite. Their failure to liaise properly with the relevant parties and the way they communicated my completion date proposal had a significant negative impact on the transaction. I would not recommend them based on my experience.

Edit following Bishopsgate very prompt reply (surprising considering how slow they are usually) - I may not be the client but I also note other reviews similar to mine where delays were caused by Bishopsgate Law. Therefore my review is not "entirely inaccurate."

Selling my late father’s home which was very emotional. Communication was not great although emails sent by us were answered in a timely manner. The estate agent offered more updates even to the extent of confirming completion date than the solicitor. Sale completed on the Friday. Monies were not in the executors account until the following Tuesday and this was only made after the executor contacted them on the Tuesday. This is not acceptable in any way and no reason for this delay. Positive is Bishopsgate was cheap.
