They came recommended re a prenup. My wife's solicitor drew up the document and did all the leg work. I got advice that felt like it was a divorce settlement, not a prenup. They won't give a ballpark figure for work, although this was straightforward stuff and my bill came out £1500 dearer than my wife's ! It's a PLC so I suppose that's all you need to know. A solicitor is something you should be able to trust and feel confident with. This feels like a money making machine first and foremost. I couldn't recommend them to anyone I know.

I asked Birkett Long (now Knights) to take on a personal injury claim on behalf of my son. Their expert opinion was that the claim had no chance of success. I went to another firm who have just achieved a substantial payment. Hopefully Knights will offer something better.

Really disappointed with this company. They have recently took over another company and that company made some errors in my elderly grandparents conveyancing, both the sale and purchase of their new home. Idon't actually want to give them one star that is too much.

At the time they wanted a piece of land removed from the title deeds to separate from the sale.

Some years later when my mother was looking through my grandparents documents she found that it had been done incorrectly.

The first person she spoke to at knights indicated that the issue was indeed incorrect and that they would possibly be able to rectify the issue if we paid the disbursements, which we was happy with that would be the right thing to do after all.

A week or so later and us having to chase (as they probably thought the issue would go away) they have basically said that they don't want to sort it out and sent my grandparents to a link to sort it out themselves.

Lovely practice Knights, well done I see from your other google reviews that its quite normal behaviour.

I say this without prejudice, nothing in it for them so no compassion, no responsibility no apology.

Disgraceful service from a lawyer.

***Avoid at all cost*** use another Lawyer

Attitude of staff from
Moment phone is answered is dreadful - with huge superiority complex and disrespectful attitude forgetting perhaps I am the
Customer looking to let them look after my investments/pensions and give them business for which I would be paying them huge fees ! They acted as if they doing me a favour. I say “not on your nelly” will they deal with my money.

They came across they not least bit understanding I could be a valued potential customer and didnt care anyway. Why would I feel confident to put them in control of my finances?

Final straw for me is member of staff who was defensive and taked to me as if I were a child used confidential information regarding a medical issue I have as ammunition to fire at me for me for having “a poor memory. “ on a previous event with them. Facts are I did not proceeed at that stage due to their extortionate fees my memory is sufficient to remember every detail about that!!!
Go elsewhere I say - used to be a reliable Colchester company sadly that is now in the past. Dealing with inexperienced immature staff fresh out of law school I suspect. Steer well clear

We experienced a brilliant service from Birkett Long. Holly dealt with our debt collection issue so well. We were always well informed with the perfect amount of guidance and a great result at the end of the process. I always assumed these things would drag on for some time but the issue was resolved so quickly.
