I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this conveyancing firm has been extremely disappointing.
I purchased my property through them in 2017 (then called Tinsdills), and a significant issue relating to access was not brought to my attention at the time. This has since caused serious problems for me in 2023 and has materially affected the value and usability of the property.
Hoping for clarity, I returned to the same firm for advice in 2023 and paid £240 for an initial consultation (one hour). Unfortunately, the meeting was not helpful. I was repeatedly told to “do your own research,” and I did not leave with any clear guidance or confidence that there was a structured plan to address the issue.
After discussing the situation further with friends, it became apparent that this was something that should have been identified and explained during the original conveyancing process. When I raised this point with the firm, communication effectively broke down. Despite assurances that the solicitor would return my calls, I received no follow-up.
I also attempted to go through the formal complaints process, which is a complete farce.
Overall, this experience has left me in a very difficult position with a property that is now significantly affected by an issue I believe should have been highlighted from the outset. I would strongly encourage others to ensure all potential legal and access matters are thoroughly explored and clearly explained before proceeding with a purchase.

After Tinsdills was taken over by Talbots, service has unfortunately gone downhill. I instructed a solicitor here to purchase a property, and heard nothing from them apart from them taking my information initially and to ask when I would pay their fee, despite them doing no work and refusing to respond to my emails or answer my calls. My emails to the solicitor went unanswered and calls went to a call centre that suggested I 'speak to my solicitor', which of course came to nothing since the solicitor apparently didn't want to communicate with me.
Highly disappointing and would not recommend as a solicitor, at least for property law. Incredibly poor communication.

My family have been clients of Tinsdills for over 40 years.
Since the change of ownership things appear to have slid off a cliff!
We are in the process of a legal matter and after attempted phone contacts over the last 4 weeks, nothing. The solicitor concerned said she'd phone me "today" twice after at least 3 further attempts to chase up. We have left a verbal complaint sitting with the receptionist today, requiring a phone contact by 12 noon today. Should that not occur, we are transferring our custom elsewhere to a more honourable firm.
Update: No surprise, no phone call, you've just lost this and future business. A highly unprofessional firm

I have been going through a divorce and was recommended Tinsdills. This has been an ongoing divorce and financial advice with 2 court appointments. I have to say Helen Jackson is one of the best solicitors I have ever used and had the pleasure of dealing with.
Her advice has been of the highest level and after a very hard and tough 15 months has of today I understood why I have put my faith in this wonderful woman.
Her professionalism is second to none and believe me when I say this woman is as cool has a cucumber nothing seems to phase her.
Highly recommend her services and I must thank you for your advice you have given to me over the past 14 months.
Without you Helen I would have never of thought it possible to protect my pensions, assets and come away with the percentage that was most acceptable in the financial order you secured for me in court.
