Under the SRA Code of Conduct, clients are entitled to a service that is competent, timely, and delivered with appropriate communication regarding progress and any arising issues. At present, we do not feel these standards are being met.

No different to national conveyancing firms. Had an extremely simple chain free purchase and it still took 4 months with all of the frustrations large firms give you… emails sent at 4:59pm so I can’t respond, solicitor difficult to contact, solicitor not in the office and nobody deputising, and when the solicitor works from home I was told I cannot contact them.

If you think going local will help make the experience stress free, don’t bother. The whole process was spent with me, the estate agent, the seller and the seller’s solicitors twiddling their thumbs waiting for this firm to respond at every stage.

Absolute disgrace of a firm. Drew up the will of my late sister in law (and obviously billed her for that service). When we informed them of her death and provided a death certificate they refused to share a copy of the will until we provided proof of our ID. That was done and we received a copy of the will by post. At no time was there any mention of charging or fees for this. We’ve now advised Mason, Baggott & Garton that we don’t wish to use their services to execute the will and have received a bill for £180 for the work they’ve done to date. That covers nothing more than the receipt of the death certificate and our proof of ID and the posting of the will to us. I would politely suggest this has been no more effort than the printing of a standard letter and a couple of second class stamps. Clearly where there’s an estate involved they feel they can take advantage. Appalling example of everything that’s wrong with the legal system. Get a breakdown of their charges before you even consider engaging with this firm - they’ll probably want to charge you for that too though!

Conveyance of my Sons first rental property, was dealt with in a professional and friendly manner. It seems to me that ,Mason Baggott & Garton look after the little people just as well as the larger Client. Believe me, I have bought enough property In my time to say, that is very unusual! I had them recommended to me and would not hesitate to do the same.
