Dreadful experience with conveyancing. Completely incompetent and held up the whole process despite no chain on both sides. Don’t communicate or reply to emails. I discovered they have a reputation for this in Southport.

I have just completed on my first home in London with the help of Hodge Halsall and I couldn’t recommend them more.

I was updated regularly and kept in the loop on next steps, I felt like I could ask questions if I didn't understand anything or if I needed something confirming. Paul was always available if I needed him and if I couldn't get hold of him Zoe was always there to guide me! They make a brilliant team! Extremely poor service and communication – avoid if you can.

I appointed this firm to handle the conveyancing for a property I was buying, and the entire process was a nightmare. My case was passed from one person to another several times without any notice or explanation. It regularly took 2–3 weeks to receive a reply to even the simplest emails, and it was almost impossible to reach anyone by phone.

These serious communication failures ultimately caused the purchase to fall through, and I lost a significant amount of money as a direct result of their incompetence. I made two formal complaints to the director during the process, but nothing improved. Staff seemed to be constantly on annual leave, and when they were away, no one else took responsibility for ongoing work.

The experience caused huge stress for me, the sellers, and the estate agents, all of whom were left chasing updates that never came. I would strongly advise anyone considering this firm for conveyancing to look elsewhere.
