HECKFORD NORTON

I used Heckford Norton when moving house last year, as they were recommended by my estate agent, though I would not recommend them.

Despite claiming to have a good working relationship with our estate agent, commumication between the two was poor and more often than not, the solicitor's information was out of date. This was highlighted when, on the day my first sale fell through, I was explicitly told by Heckford Norton (HN) that everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about.

Whilst they did eventually complete a sale and purchase for me, they were the reason for some delays in the chain. I have more than one email from them with the solicitor stating "...the fault is entirely mine", with no further elaboration.

There were some major errors with some of my paperwork, INCLUDING my completion statement. After delaying the chain, HN sent me a completion statement asking for a four figure payment before they would proceed. This was completely incorrect, as the sale was actually releasing equity. This was completely inexcusable, and caused a huge amount of unneccessary stress.

I would not recommend Heckford Norton for conveyancing, and certainly will not use them again.

Many thanks to Anushika on all her hard work, advice and help with getting probate and then subsequently with updated wills and LPAs. Very easy to communicate with and a calm presence when explaining everything that was required. It made the whole process a lot less daunting. I thoroughly recommend Anushika and I know for any other matters requiring a solicitor, I will head straight to Heckford Norton as the whole team were wonderful.
