If you are buying or selling a property, then I wholeheartedly recommend appointing Jack Stewart, partner and head of property, as your conveyancer. He was absolutely brilliant at managing our sale and onward purchase, and is supported by a great team including Jessica Curtis, legal secretary. Part solicitor, part therapist, he ably dealt with selling my leasehold flat in east London, which involved navigating the new Building Safety Act and the administrative failings of our local authority. It was a fraught process at times, but Jack and Jess kept me up to date and were never too busy to jump on a call and explain things in plain English. Everyone I have dealt with in the Saffron Walden office has been super helpful, and for the standard of service received we felt the fees were very reasonable. Thank you for all of your hard work securing our dream home.

Jack Stewart (Partner in the Residential Property team) is an excellent solicitor and I would highly recommend him for any conveyancing job. Our house purchase was not straight forward at all, and he provided very considered and helpful legal advice throughout. He is particularly good at providing a sensible commercial view, as opposed to one that is overly legalistic, illustrating that he really puts himself in his clients’ shoes and is concerned with their best interests. He is readily available when you need him, and very good at picking up matters immediately when you ring him out of the blue. He and the rest of the Adams Harrison team in Saffron Walden are very well organised and work efficiently - overall a excellent client service. Jack is extremely professional and provided exceptional service both times. He raced to provide all of the reports needed to complete our exchange while under a lot of unfair and undue pressure from our buyer and estate agent (review below). It is very hard to find solicitors that have your best interest at heart and will defend your position, while dealing with very difficult 3rd party. I’m not a client and anyone can write a review, in that sense you have to take all of these with a pinch of salt. Don’t believe me, please please speak to your estate agent, friend or anyone with experience before appointing them or becoming involved in a chain where they are representing any party. My experience was persistently horrific, not one instance but at every opportunity. My purchase only succeeded at great personal and financial cost and with the assistance of a great solicitor and estate agent. They earned their money the hard way.

We were recommended Jack Stewart from numerous family members as the solicitor to use when purchasing our first house. Jack has been brilliant from start to finish providing us with support and advice throughout. Everything he has done has been in depth and although it wasn’t a smooth sailing process, Jack put in 110% right through to the end.
