SPIRE SOLICITORS LLP

I have used Spire in Dereham on a couple of occasions and speaking from my experience they were really helpful.

Last week I popped in as I needed a document witnessed. I had arranged to go in at a certain time but didn't realise that the person I had arranged the appointment with was in their Norwich office.....my mistake :-)

Anyway, after a short wait they managed to fit me in and had Claire witness the document for me. Claire was a pleasure to deal with and the receptionist I spoke to was also very pleasent.

In today's world where we are all so quick to leave one star reviews, I have to compliment Spire. They went above and beyond to help me, thank you.

Not great service. Never get updates, won't answer phone calls and unhelpful. Take ages to get back to us. Would never use again

Lovely and helpful receptionist but an extremely rude secretary. I was simply asking for an email address on behalf of my mother and to be shouted at in an aggressive manner and to be told I’m not listening reflects badly on this business. Very disappointed

Update: Just to show how inadequate they are, look at their answer to my review - in my first sentence I stated 'we didn't employ these solicitors', but they had to 'review' that before going on to say they won't engage further. I don't want them to engage, I want them to improve for the sake of their clients and listen to my feedback. I'm sure they're offended by what I've put (as you'll see below, they're prone to taking professional criticism personally, even from fellow professionals), but they should take time to assess, learn from it and improve instead. We may not have been clients, but we were on the receiving end of their failures which is why this review is necessary.

Abysmal - we didn't employ these solicitors for our house sale, but sadly our buyers did (Dereham branch). What should have been a straightforward purchase went on for 6 months due to this company. The work was assigned to a paralegal, not a fully qualified solicitor and she was obviously out of her depth. Delay after delay, pointless hold ups, mistakes, severe lack of communication (including with their own clients). Incompetence to the point that our own solicitor and the estate agent were tearing their hair out. A week of holiday and a week of illness by the paralegal caused the sale to be held up because no one at the company took up the slack. When our estate agent and solicitor tried to chase them up as they weren't communicating or replying to urgent queries, they accused both of them of bullying and pressurising and then went into silence for days! When they were told by the estate agent and our solicitor that mistakes were being made, they refused to listen. So unprofessional! I can't even begin to describe the stress it put our family under and the strain it put on the chain, almost causing the collapse of the sale on multiple occasions. The estate agent stated they will never work with this firm again, and any sellers/purchasers who try to use them will be advised not to. I think that speaks volumes. If you can find another firm for your house sale, do it (unless you're a very patient type who's prepared to be stuck in your house for an indeterminate amount of time and thrive on stress). Avoid.

I have to say I was disgusted by my dealings with Spire. I was not happy with the price charged for the work received, or my perception of their lack of attention to detail. My complaint apparently got lost, so I started to receive threats of court proceedings whilst believing the matter was being looked into. Response when finally received was not satisfactory. Have subsequently heard of many others unhappy with service at Spire. Wish I'd known that previously : (
