I strongly advise others to think twice before instructing Nalders Solicitors. My experience was defined by poor communication, emotional disregard, and a complete lack of client care during one of the most stressful times of buying a home.

Despite repeated requests, I was not kept properly informed. Simple steps like CC’ing me in emails (which would have avoided considerable confusion and frustration) were dismissed as too time-consuming. Several urgent emails went unanswered for days, and promises of updates were routinely delayed or ignored. When important letters were received we were waiting several business days sometimes to find out what the letters even said.

Worse still, when I called in tears asking to speak to someone more senior, I was completely ignored. This wasn’t just poor communication—it was emotionally negligent.

Across two complaint responses from Holly (who I am sure will comment on this review), Nalders apologised to me nine times. Yet in the same breath, they took no actual accountability for the distress caused. Apparently, it's possible to say “sorry” repeatedly while still insisting they did nothing wrong. Their reasoning often came down to vague justifications like “genuine mistakes.” This may be normal for them—but it shouldn’t be for anyone paying for professional legal service. I gave Nalders the opportunity to reflect on how their service made me feel and to offer a genuine resolution, but they refused to take any real responsibility.

Judging by the many other reviews that echo my concerns, I wish I’d seen the red flags earlier. If you value being treated with care, clarity, and respect during your conveyancing process, look elsewhere.

Katy Jones was the solicitor for my house sale. She was absolutely awful! She took forever to respond to any emails, i could never get a phonecall with her, always got her secretary who said she would get her to call back, but never did. She was rude. She made the house sale take much much longer than i should have due to a lot of delays in her end. For example, she needed to send a letter, this took her 2 weeks! But theres so much more.. I attempted to make a complaint but it was never investigated and nothing came of it. The slow progress and lack of communication continued. My son was unaware who i used and is now using the same solicitor for his house sale which is ongoing, he has had little communication and again lots of delays due to the solicitor. He has chased multiple times for an update but waits weeks for a response, which again is only by email. She seems to avoid phonecalls, probably because she knows shes not doing a good job. Avoid at all costs.

I've used Nalders at Newquay three times in the past 12 months for conveyancing (sale of my own home and two for the estates of relatives where I was an executor of their wills). Very professional service each time from Nalders. Helpful advice and everything went smoothly. Fair pricing and no unexpected fees! Strongly recommended.

I do not recommend this firm for conveyancing. The process was very arduous as they did not inform me about or explain important details, which I wish I knew from the beginning. When I complained via the complaints procedure, the solicitor apologised for the stress it caused me, but I got the impression that this negligent practice was acceptable and nothing would change for further clients. I will stay clear of Nalders from now on and recommend others do the same.

There are a good few reviews on here reporting the same issues. Thus, I do recommend that the whole firm engage in communication skills training as part of their professional development, in order to improve the service they provide to clients. It is important that all clients feel heard and well informed every step of the way.

Andrew at the wills department, however provided an excellent, swift service and was incredibly kind and helpful.

The sellers used an online solicitor and they were clueless so just shows the difference. Worth paying the extra money for a better service from a reliable local solicitor in my opinion!
