Made an appointment to arrange probate work for my elderly parents. I made arrangements to be present. They did not turn up, so called them and they said they would see what’s happened. 1hr 45 minutes later received a call and stated that they weren’t able to perform a face to face visit! This is despite having to confirm twice the appointment, one of which was 3 days ago. What a shambles and inconvenience. If this is what co-op legal service consists of now, you know what they can do with it. Reading the other review, clearly there’s no smoke without fire. Save yourself a lot of hassle and time and steer clear of this shambles.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - what a shamble and such a disastrous product. I started the process in June of last year for my trust. Its March the following year and you still have mistakes through out the will for my actual beneficiaries. Cannot get emails responded to for months. SOME LAWYERS. AND YOU CHARGE £1500 for this nonsense service. You should be shut down and jailed for promoting fraudulent services. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.

Absolutely useless. Been well over a year since probation was confirmed. Nothing but radio silence from case handler. Had to pester him several times to even get a response when there was progress in the case. And extremely expensive. Ended up with 19k from a 25% cut of a £120k inheritance.

I would definitely NIT use Co-op Legal Services for any probate issues. The service they have provided in settling the estate of my late uncle has been dreadful. I gave had 3 case managers who are impossible to contact directly - the central telephone number is basically a call centre.

There were a number of careless mistakes on the Estate Accounts (incorrect benefiary names, even getting the date of death wrong!) and a significant investment was originally omitted from the tax calculation. Grant of Probate was obtain in August 2024 and in 5 weeks it will be the 2nd anniversary of my late uncle's death. They have still not finalised the estate or paid any distributions. Use any other solicitor but I eould recommend avoiding the Co-op if you eant to resolve mstters on a timely basis.

Absolutely appalling service. They have been dealing with my father's probate for over 7 months, and it was a very simple estate to begin with. We chose them because my fathers will was made with them. It was sold to us that everything would be taken of our hands; this couldn't be further from the truth. They have lost original documents, emails, sent out incorrect forms, included items in the estate that are separate, sent out financial breakdowns that do not make sense and are disparate between the parties involved. It feels that we have done the majority of the work as so much paperwork has been sent out to us and we have had to provide and chase up so much, often sending over duplicate copies because they have been 'misplaced'. I really do think that they should be paying us and it's not a cheap service to begin with! With every phone call they appear to be absolutely clueless. We are seriously considering making a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman. Avoid at all costs.

Edited to add; Some time has passed since the estate has been completed, today we have been sent a bill from a firm requiring repayment of an overpayment that should have been taken out of the estate but was, quote from Co-Op "an oversight on our part and the liability has unfortunately been missed. This payment should be made from the residual beneficiaries' entitlement" so more chasing for us to do! Avoid, avoid, avoid!
