Following the death of my mother at the beginning of 2025 and spending time setting up a trust for my brother, it brought home the importance of having things in place for our autistic son when we are no longer here. We dialled into a webinar run by The National Autistic Society about trusts that was being delivered by Renaissance Legal which was very informative. As a result we arranged a meeting with Katherine Miller who was excellent. She listened to our concerns and had a real grasp of the issues for us. She drafted wills, letters of wishes and the trust and offered assistance, advice and support throughout. The service and professionalism provided was second to none and we are now able to relax in the knowledge we have things in place. What stood out for me is how kind, patient, and supportive they were, which is rare experience for SEN parents from professionals.

Of course they did an excellent professional job as well. Fair competitive price, knowledgeable etc

But oh the kindness.

It is a difficult thing indeed to talk about your own death when you are terrified about what happens to children who will need care for the rest of their lives. When you have zero trust in the state who have already failed them for years. Choose someone who has your back through it, that will make sure it is done properly. We don’t have a lot but it was money well worth spending.

We contacted Renaissance Legal (following a recommendation) for support with preparing a will and a Disabled Persons Trust. They were incredibly helpful, clear about the process and costs, and responsive when we had questions. Everything was well explained and we felt very reassured about their expertise and knowledge.
