Review Title: Misleading and Potentially Harmful Listings
Chambers and Partners presents itself as a trusted directory for ranking qualified lawyers and law firms, but that is not always the case. They currently list individuals who are not solicitors, including someone who has never been on the Roll of Solicitors, under the “UK Solicitors” section and even rank them Band 1. This creates a false impression to the public and legal clients that these individuals are regulated legal professionals—which they are not.
Despite being formally notified and shown evidence from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) confirming that the individual is not qualified or authorised to practise, Chambers refused to remove or correct the listing. Their website claims to rank only “law firms and lawyers,” yet they are giving a platform to non-solicitor managers at Alternative Business Structures (ABS) and calling them top solicitors.
This is deeply misleading and undermines public trust. Clients rely on Chambers to make important legal choices, and they deserve transparency—not misrepresentation.
