Just had the misfortune of having to deal with Lewis Lewis! Anthea the solicitor who makes the eyes of other solicitors roll into the back of their heads in desparation and frustration, was acting for my brother and his partner. Part of the deal of them buying me out of a family business, included the proceeds of the sale of a small building. A contract was drawn up and it stated that I would get the funds within 5 days of completion. Lewis lewis sat on the funds, then sent it to my brother and finally kept them in their client account for another month. Unprofessional, painful and useless.

Lewis Lewis & Co were instructed by my mother to deal with my late grandmother's estate. Mamgu died mid 2019. A number of years later they wrote to my mother saying they had overlooked (!!!) invoicing my mother for a particular element of their work and now needed my mother to settle the invoice. This caused my mother great upset as mamgu had long been buried by then. I read the enclosed letter and it was very distasteful starting with 'I apologise if this is a little out of the blue...'. Clearly no thought had been given to the distress this would cause. I would not recommend this firm therefore as it would have been better to write off the invoice and not write to our family having clearly failed to keep paperwork in good order in house or raise the matter in good time.

I needed a Statutory Declaration witnessed at short notice and during Covid. I contacted several local solicitors and either got no response or a response stating they couldn't do this for 'new customers'. I had an almost immediate response from Melanie Foster (admin/reception) stating that Mary Evans (solicitor) would do this for me the very next day. The witnessing was performed, copies provided and all carried out in a Covid safe environment - administered by two very professional individuals. I just wished I had used this practice for my property conveyancing from the start - absolutely brilliant - thank you,
