I was recently the buyer in a property transaction in which the seller used the services of this conveyancing firm.

Completion was delayed by a day as Mr Barnes had not obtained an undertaking to remove a charge from the superior leasehold title, despite there being nearly two months between exchange and completion and repeated chasers from my conveyancer.

Throughout the transaction, Mr Barnes was dismissive of my solicitor’s enquiries, with some of his emails being downright rude. Matters had to continuously be escalated through the estate agent directly to the seller to achieve any progress. I was advised by my solicitor to abandon the transaction as it was so difficult to get even the most basic of documents back from Mr Barnes. The transaction happened despite Mr Barnes, certainly not thanks to him.
