Very disappointing experience. We booked an appointment for my 80-year-old mother to discuss a few minor changes to her will. I attended with her for support but was told I could not sit in, despite knowing others in similar circumstances who have been allowed to do so.
We were advised that a replacement will was needed, but were not made aware of a codicil as a possible alternative. After the appointment, it became clear that the changes we wanted could not be achieved as intended. The only option offered was one non-binding “wish”, so we decided not to proceed.
We were still charged £200 for a 30-minute appointment, effectively replacement will rates, despite having no document or practical outcome to show for it. We were disappointed by the lack of clarity and value provided.

Used for conveyancing this year. Communication was professional and the job was done eventually… we were in a very small and uncomplicated chain but it took 7 months to move. The speed of communication was poor and we would go weeks without updates, I would have to chase and chase. A month after moving we also received an extra bill as something had been missed off!

Unprofessional, error prone and poor customer service
We retained the Beeston branch for a relatively straightforward conveyancing task. The Conveyancer made several errors which delayed the process (including a 3 day bank transfer process for funds that should have been made the same day). In essence their response was that they admitted they had made mistakes but they were not prepared to actually do anything about it. I recommend looking elsewhere for conveyancing services.

Ben Bourne is exceptional, and I highly recommend him and Ellis-Fermor.
After 30+years of service, I was being made redundant and a had few days to complete a settlement agreement.
After cold calling Ellis-Fermor, Ben immediately put me at ease, stepping me through the process and explaining things simply and clearly.
Ben took on board my situation and worked diligently to secure an improved redundancy offer within the stringent timescales.
I hope not to go through redundancy again, but if I do, I will be calling Ellis-Fermor and asking for Ben.
