Thank you so much to Louise, the new head of conveyancing, who did such a good job with my recent house purchase. She got everything done really quickly, answered any questions promptly and kept me updated every step of the way. Really recommend talking to Louise if you are looking to buy or sell a house. Thank you!

Slow, worked at their own pace and almost cost us our house sale. Would not recommend.

Absolutely appalling. Collins Solicitors in Watford played a direct role in separating a father from his daughter. After losing my job, I relied on Legal Aid. Collins received the full Legal Aid payment, yet avoided spending a single penny from it. They repeatedly promised to obtain court orders for forensic evidence — including injuries caused when my abusive wife dug her nails into the back of my hand until it bled — and the court order to obtain the medical notes of the doctors who recommended the psychiatric assessments of her due to her erratic and aggressive behaviour at the time. The doctors had even advised me to sleep in the same room and offered to place another bed for me in the same room as my baby daughter because they did not trust my wife’s behaviour. All of this should have been documented in the medical notes, which Collins solicitors had promised to obtain, but failed to do so, not keeping their promise.
Despite these promises, after months of back‑and‑forth with the court, the solicitor from Collins eventually told me it was “too late” to request the very court orders they had assured me they would pursue at every meeting. Their lack of professionalism and failure to obtain crucial evidence meant that my case became nothing more than my word against my ex‑wife’s — even though she could not control her anger in court and muttered insults under her breath.
At the final hearing, an older solicitor I had never met before arrived from Collins. He told me to “just plead guilty.” I asked, “Guilty of what? Guilty for being a victim of domestic abuse?” He insisted that if I didn’t plead guilty, I might never see my daughter again. This was my first time in court, my first time hiring a solicitor, and I was overwhelmed. After repeated pressure and being told if I did not plead guilty there was a fear of losing my daughter forever, hearing this my mind became befogged so I pleaded guilty when the judge asked for my plea.
Thirteen years have now passed, and my daughter is still not with me. I hold both the court and Collins Solicitors to account for their failures, as well as the Cafcass officer who accused me of “not respecting women” simply because I did not shake her hand — something I explained was due to religious reasons, as unrelated men and women do not make physical contact.
My experience was devastating, and Collins Solicitors contributed significantly to the outcome.

Can't comment on their actual service as did not get the opportunity. Looking for conveyancing for house sale in Watford so emailed for quote as per their website. Did not get response so phoned them to be told they do not monitor their email address ? Was asked to email a specific individual, did so, then got a response that they can't help with no explanation as to why ie too busy, don't do conveyancing any more etc? Waste of my effort and they could certainly do with some customer service training and updating their website. A follow up email from me and response indicated they don't have capacity (not sure the housing market is booming at the moment) so who knows!
