When I first needed a solicitor, I spent a long time looking for someone who genuinely wanted to resolve matters rather than simply pushing everything towards court. I chose Richard because he openly said that his aim was always to keep cases out of court wherever possible and only litigate when there was no other option. Throughout my case, he stayed true to that from start to finish.

Richard represented me during an incredibly difficult period of my life involving my children and family proceedings. It was one of the most stressful experiences I've ever been through, but having Richard in my corner made a huge difference.

Jenny and the conveyancing team were excellent throughout our house sale and purchase. They kept us up to date and someone was always available to answer questions.

We instructed catterals with our sale and purchase and unfortunately were very disappointed. Communication was basically none existent, emails would not be replied to, and the attitude on the phone was as if we were bothering them when calling for an update, and that’s if we even got to speak to them! Even our estate agent couldn’t get in touch for any update via email or phone. The process was held up weeks by them not just accepting a £30 indemnity charge to be paid to our buyer’s solicitors, which we had already expressed we were happy to pay. When we finally did get to Completion it was a shambles, been told at 5pm the day before completion that we was probably not going to be moving the next day due to their mistake of not dealing with our mortgage paperwork, not that they ever admitted it was their fault. They didn’t even realise it was missing until the day before! I specifically rang and asked if we needed to do anything with the paper work a month previous and was told we did not, then to be told at the last minute we could not complete without it which sent us into a total stress to get that sorted in time. If it wasn’t for our mortgage advisor sorting the problem we would not have been completing! Totally incompetent not knowing what to do after causing the mistake in the first place! When I went to hand in the missing paperwork i asked if I could speak to our conveyancer to pass on instructions from the bank and was told no by the receptionist, I then had to walk outside, get in the car and ring the receptionist where she put me through straight away after saying our conveyancer wasn’t in the building?! Absolutely ridiculous. I know solicitors have a bad reputation in general but catterals really do fit the bill.

Richard at Catteralls was awsome. Dealt with me in a professonal and efficiant manor and and in the most cost effective way.
