Diabolical! At no time did anyone return my calls! So many times I phoned to be told “I’ll send an email to Richard French’s team to ask them to get back to you’. Not once, and I repeat, not once was my query replied to.
If this is their service; don’t bother!
March through May repeatedly ringing!

Completed on sale and exchange last May, Solicitor disappeared we complained as still to date have no final receipt of what they received and paid out of my money, followed complaints and they said would be sorted by July 18th 2025 and still we are waiting and waiting for monies they received as we had to over pay the ground maintenance. Avoid at all costs! Even their own complaints procedure doesn’t work as we are still waiting!!!

We appointed Burton and Co to handle what seemed like a straightforward legal matter. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.
Instructions were unclear, the requested document was apparently not actioned, and promises made never materialised. Customer support was virtually non-existent.
We’ve been working with another solicitor on an unrelated matter at the same time, and feeling very lost, I reached out to them for informal guidance—even though it was outside their remit. Their level of communication and support—offered at no additional cost—was incomparable to our experience with Burton.
One of the reasons we chose Burton and Co was their new office location in central Lincoln, which was convenient for us. However, after over a month with no updates, we decided to transfer our case to another solicitor. At termination, we were told that over seven hours had been spent on our file, yet we saw little evidence of any tangible progress. A simple, clear email early on could have saved us at least four weeks of delay and I imagine many hours of work for Burton.
We are grateful to Burton for flagging the matter we were not aware of at the beginning and for only charging us the initial fee at the end. While the move to a prime location may be a good business decision, our experience suggests there are more fundamental issues with operations and client service that need to be addressed.

Went to these people.Wish we didn't.
Walked in the solicitor was 15 minutes late getting to see us.
Then we filled one piece of paper out
name address etc.
A few days later gets a letter.
We have lost the above mentioned paper please fill out again.
We it came a start of action letter
None of our concerns on it,and TBH if it wasn't on letter headed paper a 10 year old could've drafted up a better letter.
And on top of that you have used your legal aid.So don't know if we got charged for initial meeting.
Seems all they want is your money.
First time using a solicitor for a stressful situation,to be treated like they don't care.
