We used Howells Solicitors (Caerphilly) for conveyancing in 2013 and 2017, and had a great experience both times. We then tried using them in 2021, but they seemed quite slow and sometimes didn't reply to emails/call back when they said they would (we knew generally about COVID delays in 2021, so we specifically asked if they had any capacity issues before hiring them, and they said they had no issues). So while their staff were friendly, it was disappointing to have quite a slow/delayed transaction regardless of us asking.
A week ago, I then emailed Howells Newport (and 3 other firms) for a conveyancing quote. I had a very quick reply from the other 3 firms, but no reply at all from Howells Newport.
Overall, my experience with Howells in 2021 and 2023 has therefore been much worse than my 2013 and 2017 experiences.
