I instructed Freeths across employment, tax, and family matters and experienced the same issues in all three.
Costs increased significantly beyond the original estimate in the employment matter without a clearly updated scope. A separate tax file was opened without a formal engagement letter (later acknowledged by the firm), adding complexity at a critical stage before a court hearing.
Communication was inconsistent, and coordination between departments appeared to create additional work rather than reduce it.
Despite raising multiple complaints, the process has been slow, with only one final response issued to date.
Overall, my experience was marked by poor cost transparency, weak communication, and lack of coordination across different teams.

Acted for a challenger bank on a business loan I brokered.
Ignored all emails from solicitors on 1st completion date set, received funds and failed to transfer on second completion day, had to chase and chase every step of the way.
Will be suggesting all my clients keep clear, and I suggest you do the same.
