My family recently completed a sale and our buyer's conveyancer was with G&R. Now we've completed and are in touch, we've had discussions with our buyer......

Despite being informed about a deadline to aim for by our estate agent and conveyancer, this seems to have been ignored, meaning an elderly family member ended up having to pay over £1000 in fees, which could possibly have been avoided, or reduced, had G&R respected this.

My estate agent and solicitor repeatedly told me they had chased G&R for updates, with no response at all, for weeks on end. When I challenged G&R, their response left me shaking.

My buyer, who was the client, said they had felt ignored.

Exchange of contracts was agreed for a particular date, but it didn't happen on the agreed date and my estate agent and conveyancer were not told why, despite asking. Exchange of contracts then happened out of the blue nearly a week later, with no advance notice. There was no communication at all about why it didn't happen, or when it would happen.

I really felt like G&R did not care about their client, or their client's seller.

Keep away from this solicitors very unprofessional one case waited 7 months to be told its now confict of intrest considering we asked them that from the start and was also told if money was not paid 20 years ago from the executor to the beneficiary it be nice if they executor paid it now considering moneys as still not been paid whats owed to the beneficiary and this would cost £50,000 each or double win or loose just avoid these solicitors.

2nd cost £600 to be told just forget about it all and enjoy yourselfs and go on holiday the money has probably gone on inheritance tax when questioned inheritance tax has threshold then was told it was a guess this was Mr Peter Duffus words dont waste time or money on these solicitors.
