The company is awful at communicating - if they say they will get back to you, they won't.

Very poor experience — delays, weak preparation and unnecessary court pressure.
I had an extremely poor experience with DWF Law LLP in relation to a consumer finance court dispute.

In my opinion, their conduct showed a very disappointing level of professionalism for a large legal firm. The handling of the matter appeared slow, reactive and poorly organised. Applications and procedural steps were not dealt with in a timely or constructive way, which caused unnecessary delay, stress and additional pressure.

Instead of trying to resolve the dispute fairly, their approach seemed focused on dragging the matter through court procedure and creating further obstacles. From my experience, the legal representatives involved appeared poorly prepared and unable to deal with the key facts properly. This gave the impression that the case had not been reviewed with the level of care expected from a professional legal firm.

I also found the communication style unnecessarily defensive and unhelpful. Rather than addressing the real consumer issues, the approach felt procedural, dismissive and designed to put pressure on an individual consumer.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm to anyone involved in a serious consumer dispute. I expected proper legal professionalism, careful preparation and fair conduct. Instead, I experienced delay, poor case management and unnecessary escalation.

Very disappointing service.

I've had very poor experience with this law firm with very threatening emails that aren't following the usual process. I think they try to scare people just to get money from them quickly without any empathy or common sense.

I used DWF Law for two separate matters and they are the worst firm I have ever dealt with, Dan Millward was appointed to deal with both matters and I was assured he was experienced and knew what he was doing.

For the first issue Dan forgot he was meant to be dealing with it, failed to provide a response in time and added two further delays, he blamed two of the delays on “annual leave”- when I explained to him that courts don’t accept this as a valid reason he was very sarcastic, annual leave is no excuse and a big firm such as this should know how to deal with things when people are away. Eventually he sorted some of the matter but missed further paperwork and failed to address some of it, he openly admits to not liking to deal with liability and couldn’t care if people are satisfied.

On the second matter I instructed him on he used the wrong laws, when challenged he became very arrogant and said he was a “grade 2/3 fee earner” he said he thinks he can “get out of it”- so will and gives incredibly dangerous advice. He said he’d look into the matter again with a LIP (Litigant In Person), he admitted to taking advantages of these cases and stated that they’re easier to win, despite the fact The Law Society states you should never underestimate the case of a Litigant In Person. When the LIP told him the solicitor who originally advised had only dealt with one case like this before he replied “maybe they’ll deal with two then” and laughed. Dan Millward is very much like a politician, he claims to know what he’s doing and makes promises he can’t keep and when he’s proven wrong with the clear facts he fails to acknowledge or explain why. Dan Millward is known to provoke people and then uses this to his advantage.

I’d completely avoid this firm and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

One star is too much for this company, have never dealt with anybody so unprofessional and ignorant. Their performance is inadequate and they totally ignore your emails and correspondence . Louise Oldfield one of the partners who has been dealing with our case doesn’t seem to have a clue what she is doing and never answers anything you put to her ,promises are never kept to get back in touch and she has caused so much stress to one member of our family it has made them ill. Avoid this company at all costs as you will be left frustrated ,out of pocket and waiting years for them to sort out a simple matter that’s a more professional outfit would have resolved a lot sooner
