My issue is that they used their time poorly, and then invoiced me for it. For over £1,000, I had a 40 minute meeting, and a written summary of that meeting. I expected much more.
For such a high hourly fee, I think it's wrong to be invoiced for the work of a supervisor to check an associate solicitor's work. When I chose an associate, I expected expertise. To be invoiced £375plus vat for a written summary of a meeting is wrong.
Unfortunately, despite a positive first meeting, the overwhelming feeling is one of extreme disappointment, wasted time and money. I don't think they have given me reasons to trust them to be able to act in my interests, rather than perform timely tasks and then invoice me for them.
Edit.
I did contact them directly. They deducted a charge previously invoiced for researching something I had no interest in, and had not requested. They chose not to do anything about the £375plus VAT charge for writing me a summary of our initial meeting.

I was deeply upset as with minimal information that I could give they assumed what my ex reaction would be, despite me having plenty of evidence they didn’t want to see this until I took the risk of applying to court. I have been passed around all because I wanted a change of circumstance and feel that these are just part of a system that doesn’t look after the youngsters as basically without seeing any of the evidence I’ve been encouraged to go weeks without seeing my son. So instead of prevention let’s just wait for bad things to happen, that effect my son, then do something claiming we are looking out for his well-being, again without seeing any of the huge amount of evidence I have collected

We contacted Stowe Family Law initially for some advice. From there they were fully supportive in helping discuss our needs and what the options for our next steps were. We were able to discuss a variety of options and what they would mean and we were given time to assess them before selecting the best for us before moving on.
As we worked through different stages, communication was easy via email as it is what worked best for us, however there were times where phone/video calls were needed and the team always helped to work around times of our shifts as needed.
We initially worked with Victoria but then had our case moved over to Jennifer once Victoria had changed jobs, both of them were fantastic and I felt they both understood our case and our needs very well. Everything was very smooth throughout and I am so glad we were able to use this team to help with our aims.
