We have used Beightons advice on a property we completed back on July after being recommended the firm through our estate agents.

As per simular reviews, I would not personally recommend them. There is no online portal so you do not know where you are up to, you will have to do most of the chasing yourself as you can go weeks without an update.

Similarly to other reviews, getting a reply can be frustrating. You'll either get a response straight away or be waiting up to a week.

Further to this, we chased Beightons for weeks as we were told that the seller of the house we were buying would not be completing a TA10 contents and fittings form so we had no idea what we would be left with or what would be taken from the property. We specifically mentioned we did not want to be left anything from the previous owner .e.g. a fridge.

Low and behold, the day we complete the sale, we arrive and the owner has left a large American fridge freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. When queried after the sale why the owner had left these, they turned around and said it was on the contents and fittings form.

It turns out Beightons had forgot to send this over, despite us asking on multiple occasions. When I asked what would be done with the left over property we did not want, Beightons told me "the items are yours to do with as you wish". Leaving us to foot the bill to dispose of the unwanted items.

We recently used Beightons Solicitors for the conveyancing on the sale of our property and were extremely impressed with the service. The whole process was handled efficiently and professionally from start to finish.
Communication was excellent throughout, and everything was explained clearly, making what can often be a stressful process feel straightforward and hassle-free. The team was responsive, proactive, and kept things moving smoothly.
Most impressively, the sale completed in just 9 weeks from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Beightons Solicitors to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient conveyancing service.

Unfortunately I would not recommend

I have used many solicitors for conveyancing purposes. This firm was recommended to me via a financial advisor so obviously firm commission involved.

My mortgage involved cashback which I was told would be sent with the mortgage funds to cover legal fees. This was not the case and the cashback filled a week later.

The solicitors would not complete on the transaction without upfront payment of the fees. They would not agree for fees to be paid when the cashback arrived. Would not accept credit card or payment over a set amount. Not helpful at all.

As I didn’t have a spare £500 I had to contact my bank to arrange a temporary overdraft in the space of an hour to enable payment so they would complete my remortgage.

2 separate payments later they
completed my deal but honestly the lack of empathy and how rude and abrupt this firm are I would steer clear.

Thank you so much to everyone at Beighton’s for all their help when buying our new home. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish, and all the staff made the whole process an easy (enjoyable!!!) experience. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a stress- free house move.
