We had a great experience with Wilford Smith - They were very helpful and helped with my first property buy with no significant delays. Communication was always the clearest; overall would certainly recommend.

★☆☆☆☆ If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would.
This was not even my own solicitor, they were acting for the seller yet their incompetence nearly caused the entire sale to collapse. In my experience, the so-called “purple team” are one of the most chaotic, unresponsive and disorganised group of solicitors I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
For eight weeks, they appeared to sit on tasks that were essential for progress. Despite having everything they needed, they failed to request key documents, half-completed jobs, and consistently missed every reasonable timescale. We actually passed the original completion date purely because they didn’t do what they were required to do in the first place.
Communication was atrocious. Messages went unanswered for days or weeks, and when anyone attempted to move things forward, whether me, the seller, or the estate agent, they suddenly became defensive and aggressive. They even claimed not to have received important emails… which were later found sitting untouched in their inbox. Their lack of accountability as a team was astonishing; no ownership, no urgency, no clarity, and no explanation.
There were no unusual issues with the property, no complex legal hurdles, just a complete lack of understanding and organisation on their part. Everything dragged on because of them, and their behaviour made an already stressful process significantly worse.
If you value communication, professionalism, timely action, or basic competence, I would strongly advise you to stay far away from the “purple team.” My experience with them was nothing short of disastrous.

We are currently mid transaction with this company and I will do a thorough review when complete but please if you are considering a solicitor at the moment and are reviewing this company. DO NOT PROCEED!!!! The unprofessionalism, lack of communication, disregard for any customer satisfaction is crazy! I cannot even believe this company are in operation.
The ONLY helpful person in this whole place is called Lisa who seems to have stepped into help after lodging a formal complaint but she cannot do everything by herself.
I recently sold another property and used co-op online solicitors and would highly recommend them to you instead!

When getting close to exchange and completion communication was extremely poor. We were made to feel that details missed by the solicitor were our fault even though as first time buyers we weren't to know any different nor were we asked to provide certain things, when we asked if anything was needed from us we were met with no reply. When calling in staff on reception were often rude, dismissive and patronising.
Hannah who dealt with our exchange and completion couldn't have been more helpful which we are very grateful for.

If I could give zero stars I would. Avoid avoid avoid.
We had an awful experience with Wilford Smith when selling our home. They were consistently incompetent & incredibly slow to respond, both to us and to others in the chain, which caused repeated delays and almost jeopardised our move.
Communication was poor throughout, and we often had to chase for updates or re-send information that we’d already provided. We often ended up having to communicate with our buyers' conveyancers through our estate agent instead.
We also ended up doing much of the legwork ourselves, including obtaining documents from the council and other parties. Key details were repeatedly recorded incorrectly, and it was clear they were out of their depth dealing with a leasehold property.
Due to their miscommunication with our buyers' team, we lost £1,200.
On completion day the proceeds were also sent to the wrong account for the wrong amount. This resulted in further costs to correct the error and significant stress on what should have been a straightforward completion. Despite having all the necessary paperwork and funds by mid-morning, they didn’t release these until 3 pm, leaving us literally standing on the pavement with our belongings waiting for the keys.
This is all just the tip of the iceberg on what was an extremely stressful, frustrating and unprofessional experience.
