I chose Jordans Solicitors to handle my house purchase based on a recommendation from my brother, even though they were more expensive than other options. Unfortunately, the service I received was extremely disappointing.

Their whole process feels very outdated. You’re required to physically drop documents off at Kiveton, which are then sent on to Doncaster — a slow and inefficient way of working in 2025.

I was allocated Shanice, who only makes call-backs after 3pm. You can’t call her directly, and some days I wouldn’t receive a call back at all. Communication during a house purchase is crucial, and this caused a lot of stress.

I also missed an email requesting further information about my funds. Instead of helping me resolve the issue, Shanice told me it was my fault and that I would have to wait, which felt unhelpful and dismissive at an already stressful time. This was the typical tone of a lot of emails - very unprofessional. Another example the survey I had done on the house Shanice asked me to send to her as I wasn't sure what to do with it - she sat on it for over a week and said what do you want to do with the survey? When questioned I just got a sarcastic response back saying it's your survey I don't get involved.

Now that we’re at the completion stage, they’ve asked for more money — additional charges I was never made aware of. When I called to complain, I was told they don’t take phone calls. Shanice then emailed me to say she had spoken to the point of escalation, Rosemarie, and that I had to pay the extra money or the purchase would fall through. Being put under that kind of pressure so late in the process is unacceptable.

Overall, for the amount of money they charge, this has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I would definitely not recommend Jordans Solicitors.

Very slow and unresponsive to my mums last will and testament despite a letter from them on 7th August ( mums house was completed in June and after being pushed, we still haven’t got any settlement on 7th September. Mum sadly passed away in April 2024 and the lack of care has been atrocious

We have just had to use Jordan’s as this is who my parents had picked to do there wills… Probate JW can not fault delt with everything with compassion and kept us updated on everything.. Then there was the sale of the property what a joke this was we had to chase all the time to be told I will chase the buyers solicitor this was a regular occurrence when we asked any questions we never got the correct answer so we are taking this to the legal ombudsman because Jordan’s are definitely not worth what they charge

I've used you guys 5 times in the past and this time you let myself and my wife down when using you to sell both our houses and deal with the one we was buying. May 24 to feb 25. Costs out of control. Not kept informed. Solicitor we first used called charis just did reply and in sept a buyer from my property pulled out because of no replies. Then we found out she'd left and a chap called paul took over. He tried his best but the damage had been done. £12700 bill and not one apology along the way.
