Extremely disappointing service. Despite numerous emails and calls, I have had no response at all. The onboarding paperwork for my property was completed over a month ago, yet there has been no progress, and even the buyer’s solicitor is now chasing for the contract pack. Communication is completely lacking, which is unacceptable for something as time-sensitive as conveyancing. I would not recommend this firm.

I used Chris Stevenson’s Solicitors for conveyancing on a property sale (sale late July 2025, completion 12 Dec 2025). Overall I was disappointed with the service.

There was a slow start after the memorandum of sale and I had to chase repeatedly for updates and progress (a very high number of calls). Communication was inconsistent, it was often difficult to reach the person dealing with the file, and I didn’t have clear visibility of what was outstanding.

I also experienced repeated requests for documents/confirmations and an issue with documents I provided not being located initially, which caused avoidable delay. During the transaction I was informed of a data protection-related issue involving another client’s information, which understandably reduced confidence.

I’ve raised a formal complaint and requested a full chronology and resolution.

As first-time buyers, the legal side of purchasing a home felt quite overwhelming, and I’ll admit I was a typical anxious first-time buyer with lots of questions. Throughout the entire process, the team were incredibly patient, reassuring, and supportive.

A huge thank you to Oliver, Marzenna, and Shona, who were all fantastic to work with. They were always quick to respond, extremely professional, and consistently helpful, taking the time to explain things clearly and put our minds at ease.

We felt well looked after from start to finish, and their efficiency and attention to detail made a stressful process so much smoother. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough, especially for first-time buyers.
