I recently used DFA Law for a family matter (probate and estate administration) and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. From the very first call, the team was professional, approachable and clear in explaining everything. My solicitor took the time to understand the full picture, kept me updated regularly, and was realistic about timelines and costs. In what is often a stressful and emotional process, they made it feel manageable and straightforward.

The firm has clearly been around for a long time (over 180 years!) but they’re not old-fashioned in their approach — everything was handled efficiently with modern communication (email, phone, and secure portal).I particularly appreciated their straightforward fees and no surprise bills.

Slow to get things done. Needed to chase them up repeatedly following a bereavement. Paid the best part of £10k for an estate totaling just over £200k. Not bad work for a few dozen emails, a zoom call and calculations for my parents estate.

The buyer of our property chose to use DFA Law. Enquiries from our solicitor to them often went unanswered, and more importantly, they consistently failed to return calls. This lack of responsiveness caused unnecessary stress and significant delays to the entire chain.
If you are looking for a proactive solicitor who keeps you informed, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them for conveyancing.
