Avoid Avoid Avoid at all costs- despite extortionate (tied up with the bank) charges and adding insult to injury by increasing costs by a further 2k at the final hour. We are unable to obtain a justifiable breakdown of fees!! Not a pleasant experience.

We have been in the sale process for almost a year, the buyer's mortgage offer expires in 4 weeks. It is absolutely impossible to get the required information from Gateley, noone cares that we will be losing our buyer after sunch a lenghthy process, we feel absolutely powerless and at their mercy. 'Dissapointed' does not describe it, it is simply devastating. would have given 0 stars.. Avoid this company.

Dealing with the investment team and they have awful service with no communication and have to keep chasing up. No effort to help their customers.

We have had a terrible experience with this firm acting for the Seller's solicitors, if it was not for our solicitor pushing for even a basic response I am not sure the purchase of our dream property would have gone ahead.
I would strongly dissuade anyone from using this firm. They hand off work to un-qualified lawyers or un-licenced conveyancers who do not have the experience or expertise to deal with simple transactions.

Gateley were the seller’s solicitors in a transaction. Worst experience buying a property. Our sellers themselves were a positive experience, but it appears the tail wags the dog with these solicitors calling the shots on things they aren’t prepared to do and we had to keep contacting the sellers to advise of issues our solicitor was having with theirs. Requests were not unreasonable it was for basic things like ensuring my husband’s name was amended correctly on the contract, it was their mistake and they refused to send new papers , claiming our sols could manually mark the corrections on all the paperwork. Totally unacceptable behaviour, we got in touch with the sellers and we had new contracts within the day. Second issue was them refusing to amend the purchase price on the contract that was incorrect, again claiming manual corrections could be made and it could be rectified in the completion statement, these sols just want to do minimal work. Needless to say we refused to exchange on a contract where the purchase price was incorrect! We are pursuing a formal complaint against our experience with these solicitors now. Unnecessarily made the sale process more painful, including not answering questions from our solicitors and requesting we refer to a legal handbook they created which didn’t answer the questions from our solicitors. The practices of these solicitors is appalling.
