I had a good initial meeting with Mr Pert but then it was all downhill, poor communication, he didn't phone when he said he would, no mention of cost, he is very old school. If you want to be pulling your hair out hire him.

"I have had an appalling experience with Pert & Malim during my house move. Despite being the client paying their fees, it felt as though the firm was working for every other party in the chain except me.
The service was riddled with basic administrative errors and a total lack of attention to detail. Major legal disclosures—including a full house rewire and a new roof—were completely left off the information forms. When I raised these serious concerns, they were dismissed as 'something and nothing.' It is deeply concerning that a law firm would show such indifference toward ensuring a property is legally sound and accurately documented.
To make matters worse, when challenged on these failings and the lack of urgency, the firm used a bereavement from five years ago as an excuse for their current incompetence. This is unprofessional, dismissive, and entirely unacceptable. If you want a solicitor who will actually advocate for you and protect your interests, do not use this firm."

Wouldn’t recommend due to lots of facts but the main one being that even though myself and my sister were joint beneficiaries, my emails would go unanswered but they responded to hers. Still waiting for a response to my last 4 emails. Extremely unprofessional and upsetting.
Too small to handle a lot of cases at once. No deputy if your solicitor was away or ill.
Our late mum’s sale completed on 20th November and one legacy was told she wouldn’t get the money before Christmas. Eventually released interim payment to me and my sister 9 days before Christmas.
Slow in dealing with simple tasks. Probate was granted in 3 weeks but it took Mr Pert almost 3 months to start work on it.
The buyer of my Mum’s home had sold a property in France and it took 5 weeks for the money to arrive in the UK. Why was she not told that the money needed to be available when she first made the offer.
I lost my job due to stress of losing Mum, illness and worrying about why things weren’t done in a timely manner leading up to completion.
Held on to our inheritance way too long. Small amount of interest paid didn’t seem right.
Fees seem steep and still not had a proper breakdown of them. Time taken in all was ridiculously long.

Appalling - after meeting Pert and Malim and instructing them to act for us on several urgent issues we became concerned at the lack of activity and their refusal to answer E Mails. After five long months during which our legal affairs went unattended and their office was uncontactable we were forced to withdraw our instruction. We have received no explanation or apology and have been forced to begin again with a new and much more proactive Solicitors . Avoid at all costs !!

In March we were accepted on an offer for a house, we required duel representation which pert & Malim said they can do. Fast forward 5 months, myself and my partner are now homeless (two weeks and still counting) after our house completed, Sarah won't return the calls, never once spoke to Mr malim. She hasn't chased anyone on our behalf, we have had to do all the legwork despite her knowing our situation. NEVER AGAIN!
