I've had a few dealings with Pengillys Solicitors over the past few years, and my experiences have been mixed.
About a year ago, I needed help with a particularly challenging situation, and the receptionist and office staff were exceptional. They were kind, compassionate and genuinely supportive, and I came away feeling very well looked after.
More recently, I contacted the firm following the death of my mother. Unfortunately, this experience was quite different. As my family has used the firm for many years, I had expected a little more empathy and understanding during what was a difficult time. There was no acknowledgement of my loss, and overall I found the service to be rather transactional rather than supportive.
The legal work itself was fine, but I think the experience very much depends on who you happen to deal with. Based on my experiences, the level of customer care has been inconsistent.

I had an exceptional experience working with Sarah J Elliott. From the start, her attention to detail was incredible; she thoroughly reviewed all searches and contracts. Sarah managed the entire process from instruction to exchange in just four weeks. Communication was clear throughout and I felt completely safe in her hands. She was incredibly mindful of my financial and emotional circumstances, even providing a full itemised breakdown. So I knew exactly where I stood. Sarah's team planned the exchange and completion meticulously. Just completed a conveyance and their communications was excellent, their advice sound and they were very timely in answering any questions I had. This came off the back of a terrible conveyancer we initially used from another firm. What a relief to find individuals and a firm which were professional and top notch.
