HAD an appeal at the Crown Court where I was represented by a barrister named Katie Bacon, appointed by Hudson and Marshall This is the barister hudson and marshall found suitable . To me they didnt try to find someone good at their job , Unfortunately, my experience with her representation was extremely poor.
She appeared unprepared and lacked a clear understanding of my case. Important evidence that I had provided to her was not submitted, including the police report. During proceedings, she asked me questions that felt more aligned with the prosecution than with defending my case, which was both confusing and concerning.
Overall, it seemed as though very little effort had been made in preparing or presenting my appeal. Her conduct gave the impression that she was disengaged throughout the hearing.
I would strongly advise others in a similar situation to carefully consider their representation. If you find yourself assigned the same barrister, it may be worth requesting a postponement in order to secure more effective legal support.
As someone relying on legal aid, I expected a reasonable standard of representation, but unfortunately, this was not my experience.
Then after that poor representation and losing my appeal , hudson and marshall calls and closed my case.
They got paid by legal aid , found the worse of the worse .
It was advised by Katie bacon not to appeal further . Although I explained she didnt try but still took took her advice.
When i asked her what questions she was goimg to ask me she said " I cant tell you ".
What a joke .

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would - Jay and the team at Hudson Marshall are simply fantastic. I had Jay for two cases and throughout both he was exceptional. Any questions I had day or night he answered, he was reassuring, supportive and a genuinely lovely, down to earth person. He kept me calm and his knowledge and skills helped me clear my name on both counts. I never felt like I was talking to just a solicitor, Jay makes you feel like a friend and in stressful situations, a friend is sometimes all you need. I will be recommending Jay to anyone who asks for a solicitor and I highly recommend him and the firm to anyone in need! Thank you Jay and Sim, I couldn’t have done this without you and I wouldn’t want anyone else fighting my corner!
