Getting a divorce is a torturous nightmare, so just remembering back over the months of turmoil tends to tarnish a working relationship with any lawyer. Nevertheless, I was represented by Bea Knowles-Wright from Stephens-Scown, who was like an island of calm in a war zone.
Bea taught me the timelines of patience, what not to say, how to come across positively and when I could do nothing. I thought way too much about the why’s and wherefores. She just stayed with the finances and salient facts. When my whole reputation was cast in shadow, she believed my protestations and we got to the end with dignity, a bit of luck and a lot of professionalism. The woman has a tremendous memory for small details. I came out into the light after delays by Covid and the other party, but got my settlement and life is now golden.
