My brother was arrested and appeared in magistrates’ court the very next day. On the night of his arrest I called and was told that someone from Levy & Co would be there to represent him.

When I arrived at court the next morning, I rang Levy & Co and the receptionist/PA told me they had nothing booked in. I then Googled the firm’s owner – the same person I’d been told was attending – and saw that he was in court after all.

When I tried to speak to him, I gave him important information about my brother’s situation. He was clearly not interested in listening. In court, the information I gave him was presented incorrectly, and in my view this contributed to my brother being remanded for a month. That’s what we got under legal aid.

From what I’ve heard from others, many people in prison are represented by Levy & Co, and it leaves me seriously questioning the quality of their representation. My experience was that the owner was dismissive, didn’t seem to care, and left us feeling completely let down at one of the most stressful times of our lives.

I really wish we had gone private from the start. Based on my experience, I would not recommend using this firm under legal aid – it felt like a mockery of the legal system, and we certainly did not feel we were in safe hands.

Private paying client, asked them to make pre-charge representations, which they did albeit on a very minor superficial level with no follow up, which defeated the point in the first place. Would not use again for private or legal aid work.

My friend had his first court hearing this week and he was really pleased with how informative Tia was and how greatly she assisted him. She did a great job of guiding him and making him feel comfortable whilst understanding the court procedures. Would definitely recommend!

Everyone at Levy & Co Solicitors have been excellent throughout. From Kristina first of all and I then dealt with Michael Rees & Steven Levy who were both very professional and experienced. They won't fill you with any false hope but at the same time will fight to get the best outcome possible.

Levy&co benfleet are absolute shocking. They will lead you down the garden path thinking all will be okay and then in court they won’t fight for you. It was a first offence for me and I got a lot of punishment for it, many other solicitors have said that levy should have fought for me and they never did but pretended they were. Be careful people micheal leads you down the path and Steven won’t fight for you in court!!!
