I phoned them before Xmas for a conveyancing quote. Heard nothing after 4 weeks so personally went in to the office to chase up. Was reassured that a solicitor would revert. Almost a week later and still nothing. They are either very busy or not interested in certain types of work. Which is fine and their prerogative but it's plain rude and unprofessional to offer no communication, just silence.

Update#2. You guys are incredibly unprofessional. This is a genuine review and rather than examining your internal procedures you choose to question its validity. You have asked me to contact the 'owner' directly. Who exactly is that given there is more than one partner listed on your website or is it someone else?

As the executor of the estate, I found the probate process daunting at first, but the solicitors guided me through every step with clarity and patience. Avtar and Pooja took the time to explain everything in plain language, kept me informed throughout, and handled matters efficiently and professionally. Their calm and compassionate approach made a difficult time much easier to manage, and I felt fully supported from start to finish. I would highly recommend their probate services.

I approached Vickers Solicitors (Stephen) regarding a contentious probate matter and was always dealt with in a professional and supportive manner. This complicated matter was was eventually brought to a very satisfactory and swifter close than could have been. I was very thankful for their help and would highly recommend this firm.

Pretty bad experience dealing with my uncles probate. Communication was poor for several months, multiple emails and messages unanswered, adding to the stress of dealing with bereavement and making us fear for my surviving aunt's financial security.
They forgot to share my uncle's Letter of Wishes until months after his funeral, so we were unable to fulfil his wishes for his funeral.
Vickers for weeks ignored my formal complaint and did not confirm receipt of it, in contradiction to their stated complaints policy. Once I gave them a very bad review on Google they miraculously started to engage with us, but remained in denial about our customer experience.
To be fair to them, the last few months of their service went ok.
Their response below says that these points are without foundation, which is strange as we have had a written apology acknowledging the first 2 points re poor communication, and not sending us the Letter of Wishes 6 months late which they said was "regrettable". They also discounted their final invoice significantly to reflect their poor performance.
More widely, I'm very surprised that a high street lawyer charges £250 an hour to do what is mostly non expert administrative tasks. It cost 11k to do the probate for my uncle who shared a modest house with my aunt, had a savings account and owned a car and a couple of small investments.
Do your own probate if you can!
