This firm can be very attractive as in some cases they offer to help you for free. Unfortunately, from my experience it’s beyond getting what you pay for.

We asked over a year ago for copies of personal data under a Subject access request which is a legal requirement. The solicitor had insisted on communicating on our behalf which we wanted copies of. We had asked to be cc’ed in and this never happened.

This request was acknowledged but never provided. The firm never outright refused but tried to deter us saying it was a ‘strange’ request, promising it by deadlines that never happened, then being vague saying it is a significant task and reminding us they were working for free. A subject access request is law for everyone- from businesses to charities.

We have had to get the information Commissioner’s Office involved who have admitted the firm has breached the law. This is still an ongoing issue.

It is baffling to why a solicitor who is the director of a law firm would withhold your own personal data. Why would they refuse to show the correspondence they had written on your behalf?

He has also failed to tell a vulnerable adult that they would need an appropriate adult on at least two occasions. Please bear in mind this the director of the firm Julian Hardy.

Without going into too much detail,
the damage done by this firm has contributed to a nervous breakdown which they may never make a full recovery. If you are in need of a solicitor, you are clearly in an awful situation. Please don’t choose someone who will make things worse.
