The level of professionalism was disappointing — progress was painfully slow, and there were basic omissions in the sales contract, including something as fundamental as the buyer’s name. Communication and efficiency were well below expectations.

If your seller is using this firm, I would strongly recommend asking them to appoint a different conveyancer — or seriously consider walking away from the transaction altogether.

Based on this experience, I would not trust this firm to handle property sales or purchases.

We sold and bought a new property with Peter Greenhalgh Solicitors. All staff were very professional and friendly. We had a few very sticky issues with the property we were buying and thankfully all issues were overcome with total satisfaction. Good communication through Sarah mainly but also Peter and Paul. PDG have been our family solicitors for years and have always been professional and good value for money. Recently, I have noticed the that the processes have become more efficient and straightforward, after instructing Paul to handle the conveyancing for my first house purchase. I shopped around, as I'm on a budget, and PDG were the best price of about 5 quotes. Progress has been fast with no need to chase things up. Paul and Sarah have made everything as easy as possible for me and the communication has been really good.

Peter represented the person buying my home, and unfortunately he made the entire experience much more stressful than it needed to be. He does everything very late in the day, requiring other solicitors to get things over the line. He was also rude to other professionals and about people within the chain.

If you have a 1/2 transaction chain and aren’t in a hurry I’m sure that Peter is fine. Otherwise I’d recommend going with another solicitor.
