Joanna and Megan were brilliant for our sale and purchase. They were patient, understanding and clear is every correspondence we had. We never once had to chase them up, they provided updates at every stage. If I needed to call they were always there to talk to and explain any questions I had. Seamless from start to finish. Thank you

Highly recommend Wendy Bailey from the Barnsley Branch, who dealt with a very difficult situation concerning an ex partner who refused to engage in selling the matrimonial home, We had no other choice but to take this matter to the family courts.
Wendy was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable on family law and explained everything to us, kept us upto date with all developments, responded quickly to emails / telephone calls. Reassured us when we felt very frustrated.
The court paperwork was always filed on time and in depth. Which couldn't be said for my ex partner's legal team.
My experience with Wendy was nothing but positive.
Would I use Howells again? Absolutely!!
Date of experience: Court hearing 02/05/2025.

Rosamund and Jane handled the conveyancing for a property I purchased recently. I found their service very good and professional. They were always helpful and patiently guided me through the process which I was grateful for as a complete newbie to home buying. I would recommend Howells.

Howells overall is very disorganised, but the Barsley office was especially poor. We are first time buyers, no chain, and the vendors had already vacated the property. Should of been a straight forward conveyancing process but it was far from it! Very hard to get hold of our solicitor, we were always promised a call back but never got one. The people on reception transfer you through to the solicitors voicemail, so you have to call up again to try and get someone to help you. Our solicitor was absent for 2 weeks, we were not informed. She had left a lot of work untouched for weeks. The vendors solicitors, the estate agents, nor I could get a straightforward response. Multiple people looking at the case at once following my complaint. This caused further issues as none of them communicated with each other, causing the information getting requested several times. It just went round in circles! Overall, very stressful. I don't want anyone else to have to go through that.
