Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend

Our experience with Busbys solicitors was unfortunately very disappointing. What should have been a relatively straightforward process regarding probate was prolonged unnecessarily, due in large part to avoidable delays and a consistent lack of clear communication.

The final fees were significantly higher than expected. We were especially surprised to be charged an extortionate amount for a simple signature, as the solicitor Josh was an executor — a straightforward request that came with no clear justification for the cost.

It’s worth noting that under its previous ownership, Busbys Solicitors provided an excellent, personal service. Sadly, our recent experience suggests a decline in both quality and client care under the new management. It’s disappointing to see a once-reliable firm fall short in this way.

SHOCKINGLY AWFUL SERVICE
Very poor, almost non-existent communication skills , no personal contact - all done with email, with every request for information returned with out of office reply.
Not at all proactive- only reactive to requests for progress updates,, which are also slow in response.
The document portal is shambolic
Jo Ponsford is arrogant, full of self importance, unresponsive and works to own agenda as in our case with conveyancing made unnecessary enquiries and additions without any consultation with their client causing considerable delays in progress and massive frustrations with other solicitors and agent.
It is impossible to elevate any issues to senior management as both new business owner/directors are in denial of their behaviour.
This business will not survive without recognition of their serious failings in customer service.

not impressed at all. 10 weeks in and have still received no news at all on my purchase even after visiting offices 4 times to chase update. if i lose my property due to their delays i will not be a happy person. i would NOT recommend using them.

What a transformation, under new leadership Josh, Jo and the whole team, have been absolutely superb and having successfully acted on a number of transactions for us recently I can only say well done! Moving is for many a stressful process primarily often to a lack of communication and action, my experience with Busbys of late has been that they have been exceptionally attentive and efficient and dealt with everything on a highly personal and professional level. Very disappointed with the service received. Lost a property sale due to slow and unresponsive staff, always either on holiday or sick leave, then confusion over who is doing what. I am surprised anything ever gets done, and yet we used this firm for years when it used to be fast, with great communication and excellent staff. Shame.
