HEWITSON & HARKER LIMITED

My builder recommended Hewitson & Harker for the purchase of my new home, but unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. I would strongly advise others to avoid this firm based on what I went through.

They don't respond to emails, and phone calls are often ignored. It’s been almost two years since I bought my property, and I still haven’t received the land registration documents.
I’ve contacted the firm multiple times for an update, but my emails have gone unacknowledged. When I finally managed to speak with the secretary, I was told she had been on annual leave — and then that Scott, the person handling my case, was also on leave. It feels like there’s always someone away, but no one taking responsibility.
If the firm can’t provide timely communication or follow-through, they shouldn’t take on clients’ cases. Truly a frustrating and disappointing experience

Highly recommend Hewitson and Harker after such a great experience managing the sale of our old house and purchase of the new one. Always felt like we were updated and any questions we had they were there to help and quick to respond. Everyone we had dealings with were brilliant but a big thank you to Scott, Paris, Katie and Alicia for making it as stress free as possible and getting everything over the line with tight deadlines. Nothing but 5 stars throughout!

Would absolutely not recommend to anyone - the level of service we have had from H&H has been dreadful, 0 communication. We've had to chase and chase to get any answers. Phone calls leading to nowhere - leave a message and we'll call back, but never get a call back.

We'd send numerous emails to not get a response, and when pushed for a response (despite asking questions in said emails) they would reply "we did not think this email warranted a reply", which kept leaving us in the dark on what we needed to do for our house paperwork and was also quite rude.

There were no formal introductions or explanation of how the process works - luckily I am not a first time buyer or this process would've been even more confusing.

Throughout the process we have been passed between different people at H&H who had all told us different answers on the phone, yet when we ask for written confirmation via email we did not receive said confirmation.

The best communication only came after Redrow intervened on our behalf, but still the level of service has been dreadful. Once we paid our deposit for exchange of contract we then finally had quicker responses to emails and phone calls. Miraculously.

When large amounts of money are involved, you'd think that people would be more helpful and communicative. House buying is stressful enough without all of this added into the mix.

We have just moved house and Scott and the team handled both our sale and purchase. We were so impressed by the service! The communication was great. Scott really helped to make the process as smooth as possible for us which was much appreciated. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Hewitson and Harker for both house sales & purchase. They did an excellent job of supporting us through the challenges thrown up by our erratic and unreliable buyer. I'm sure they put in extra work to help us achieve a good outcome. If we'd chosen a different solicitor I think things would have gone poorly.
