I am writing this review after experiencing very sub standard work from UTK when they managed the sale of a plot of land behind our house in Carmarthen. I definitely do NOT recommend using their services – there are far more professional and ethical companies out there. I would have given a zero star review, but as everyone I spoke to was very nice they get one star for that. This was my experience - The land was to be split into two parts. The main part was to be sold. A small portion was retained to make the garden on our house a little bigger. I would expect that when splitting up a plot of land like this, the dimensions of the land being retained would be detailed on all the contracts. This was in fact not done. Only a poor photocopy of part of a surveyors drawing (with no dimensions on it at all) was used to indicate the split of the land (see attached). The result was that the buyer of the plot was in dispute with us just one week after the sale went through as he disagreed where the boundary was. Both he and I are partly to blame here we both assumed they had had this all covered in documents they had not shared with us. How wrong we were. When I complained to UTK about this oversight, they investigated internally and said that this was their normal practice (!!!) and therefore they washed their hands of it. If this is their normal practice, then clearly I cannot recommend their services to anyone. My advice – stay well clear. There are other firms that will manage your legal matters far more professionally.
