My Will needed updating so i contacted Walters and Plaskitt to make an appointment. I was pleased to hear that Julie Hissey was available, as she had done my previous wills. Julie is a lovely, amiable and professional lady. She gave me guidance and advice which was greatly appreciated. When you make a will it can be a daunting experience. Unfortunately, my experience with this firm was disappointing. Whilst the trainee solicitor assigned to our case was helpful and responsive, there appeared to be significant delays when matters required sign-off from the main solicitor. Communication throughout the process was poor, with a lack of coordination between members of the team, which resulted in unnecessary delays and frustration.

There were multiple occasions where communication was difficult, to the point that even our estate agents struggled to get hold of the firm. The conveyancing process became far more long-winded and stressful than it needed to be.

Since completing on our property, I have also received several communications in error from the firm (4 as of date), including being mistakenly added to a WhatsApp group unrelated to my matter and receiving emails regarding an active purchase despite having completed 9 months ago. Given the importance of confidentiality and attention to detail in conveyancing matters, I found these repeated errors concerning and unprofessional. I have had no explanation to why this keeps happening and the only response I have had is “ I assure you it will not repeat itself no more.”

I have also been contacted since moving in to my home stating that they needed me to resend all my documents for proof of deposit and statements due to them losing them.

While some members of the team were helpful, overall I was left disappointed by the level of communication and the repeated administrative mistakes. I would not recommend or use in the future due to this.

I have never felt the need to leave a bad review before but the treatment I got today was appalling!!! My husband and myself just popped in to the Burslem branch to inquire about probate for my late father's will. Neither of us having any idea what needed to be done not having been in this situation before. When I showed the solicitor the will I had in my possession as it happens to be a copy, was very loudly and condescendingly told multilpal times "Not worth the paper it was wrote on"
When I asked what to do about the will being drawn up by a solicitor that no longer exists the reply was the throw up her arms and say 'Who knows, you will have to find the original will"
I left the premises somehow feeling like a naughty schoolgirl.
Needless to say I will not be going back but will go to Myers and pay double the price.

Julie has just completed a probate application for our familly. She is very professional and explained everything clearly to us. We would highly recommend.
