Having used BDB Pitmans on a number of conveyancing transactions, I can safely say I do not recommend using them. Their advice if left unchallenged would have resulted in us needlessly paying c.£10,000 in stamp duty and early mortgage repayments. This also led to simple transactions being dragged out and the overall process taking much longer than anticipated or needed. Having logged a complaint with a Partner, a very defensive approach was taken, no regard for the client was given and there was a distinct lack of empathy. No accountability or apology was ever given. We challenged the advice given and saved nearly all of the £10,000. Still awaiting some accountability or at least an apology.

If I could have left no stars I would have done so.
Recently I had to sell my Marina Berth at Premier marinas Gosport, Under the terms and conditions of the lease I have to pay Premier Marinas solicitor fees.
Obviously the solicitors were BDB PItmans at Southampton.
All comments are my opinion and experience of what has happened
The whole transaction was a complete and utter farce,
It took three and a half months to effectively change a few names, addresses and dates and get documents signed.
BDB Pitmans decided to change the wording on documents, that had probably been that way for 40 years plus, this seemed to me to have absolutely no relevance at all.
It is also very possible that mistakes were also made, although I have no evidence of this, (just a passing comment made by my own solicitor) when BDB PItmans changed from using a junior member of staff to calling in a very experienced consultant, who I think was a previous Partner ?
Delay after delay happened, for no reason that I could see.
No apologies.
Not at all impressed by this company.
I have tried to make an official complaint but they will not accept or look into it as I am not “officially” their client.
I was forced to use them and I paid their fees from the proceeds of the sale, therefore I believe I have the right to complain about the way this was handled, irrespective of the fact that I didn't officially instruct them.

Their response is a waste of time, I have contacted them to discuss further, as requested but they just don't respond.
Certainly not what you would expect from a law firm.

I use BDB Pitmans for both Personal and Business. They are very responsive, profesional and always take time to listen and understand your problem. They are profesional and they don't waste time on frivolous communications which are not required.

I have used Pitman's both as an accounting professional on behalf of clients and for my own commercial agreements. They have always been thoroughly professional and react on a very timely basis to requests for help and advice.

I have been involved in cases involving substantial and lengthy litigation on behalf of clients using their very capable litigation department. I have also used their commercial department and have always been delighted with the prompt and very professional service I have received. Quite simply, in my opinion, they offer the best commercial and dispute resolution services in the South of England and I have very happily and with absolute confidence recommended them to a number of my clients who have equally been delighted with the services offered.
