I'm extremely happy with the service provided by RIAA Barker Gillette. They were very professional; dealt with my matter at speed and were very accommodating with my disability. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if I need a lawyer.

I rarely leave reviews, but feel it is important to share our experience in a measured and factual way.
Our residents’ company instructed Barker Gillette in relation to a complex, multi-leaseholder redevelopment matter. Over a period of more than two years, the file passed through four different solicitors, which resulted in repeated loss of continuity, shifting approaches, and prolonged delays.
Communication was inconsistent, at times withheld. At critical stages there were long periods with little or no proactive engagement, and requests for coordinated meetings with other professional advisers were declined. In a transaction involving twelve individual leaseholders, this lack of joined-up communication had a material impact on confidence and engagement. On several occasions we sought line managers assistance, promises made, none kept.
A key communication issued to all leaseholders in November 2025 focused heavily on risks while omitting important contextual benefits and contained many factual inaccuracies. Although a revised note was issued later, the damage to confidence had already been done. Attempts to address this constructively were unsuccessful.
We raised a formal complaint with the firm. Unfortunately, none of our concerns were upheld, despite the evident breakdown in trust and service. As a result, we have taken the matter to the Legal Ombudsman and are considering further regulatory steps.
This review is not written lightly. Complex matters require consistency, careful communication, and strong supervision. In our experience, these elements were lacking, and we were ultimately unable to continue working with the firm.

I contacted Karen Cole at RIAA Barker Gillette through a recommendation from a close family friend, regarding an employment dismissal dispute. From the start Karen was very upfront with her expectations and the associated costs that were to be expected with undertaking the dispute. She worked diligently and professionally, and within a week of contacting Karen, the dispute had been settled with my former employer, resulting in a very positive outcome. I was highly impressed with Karen's professionalism and knowledge with how to approach such a situation. Highly recommend working with RIAA to anyone.
