My sister and I approached them to handle probate for our late father, and the experience has been deeply disappointing from start to finish. After an initial appointment where we provided the death certificate and ID, we heard absolutely nothing back for months - despite repeated follow up emails and phone calls to their receptionist. We were left completely in the dark during a time that was already incredibly difficult.

When we finally received a response, it was riddled with miscommunication. They falsely claimed we intended to handle probate ourselves, when in fact we had asked for a breakdown of costs so we could make an informed decision. We chased this up multiple times. They never once sent the breakdown we clearly requested - something any professional firm should provide as standard.

The lack of care, urgency, and basic communication was awful. We were dealing with a sensitive, time-critical legal matter and were instead met with silence, delays, and excuses about being a “small company with a heavy workload.”

While we understand pressures on small firms, this does not excuse the months of inaction or failure to respond to bereaved clients.

Ultimately, we had no choice but to take our business elsewhere. We would not want another grieving family to go through the same experience.

I applied for legal power of attorney in April 22. We completed the paperwork in June 22. Still waiting on completion, ring every month secretary says you will receive a call back today. Nothing no return call. Most annoying. No update of any kind.

I recently used this firm in relation to conveyancing and found the company to be professional, friendly and reliable, completing the work in a minimal time frame and with no problems or fuss. Good communication and would recommend.

Moses Thompson at Richard Thomas solicitors is absolutely excellent. Way better that huge company Slater & Gordon whose mess Moses had to sort out for me. He is very nice & extremely efficient. I would highly recommend him to anyone
