I recently used this firm for my house purchase and had a great experience throughout. Ben was particularly helpful—professional, responsive, and always clear in his communication.

The whole process was handled efficiently, with regular updates and quick responses to any questions. It made what can be a stressful process feel straightforward and well managed.

Ben Clensy at Lilac Law has been great to deal with, helped with our completion and is very communicative. Overall my experience has been great. Ben has always responded to my phone calls or called me back very soon, unlike other solicitor's firms which are difficult to get through. We pushed to get the sale completed a couple of weeks earlier which Ben helped us to achieve.

We were referred to Lilac Law by Tembo and I'm glad they did.

The price of the service is reasonable. The onboarding was online so no paperwork to fill in which made it fast and easy. Completion and witness via DocuSign was a massive bonus, no having to print out tens of legalise pages, sign and mail them by hand.

A small bit of feedback is after onboarding to send an email to the client to let them know you'll be in touch soon, and check the total for the figures for completion fees, which clients should be double checking anyway.

Overall great service and highly recommended.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this firm and would strongly advise others to think carefully before instructing them.

My transaction ultimately fell through due to lease issues, which I appreciate can happen during conveyancing. However, the biggest issue throughout the process was the poor communication and lack of responsiveness from my solicitor, Ben. Numerous emails went unanswered, updates were inconsistent, and I was repeatedly left chasing for information during what was already a stressful process.

To make matters worse, I repeatedly had to chase my lender directly, only to be told on multiple occasions that my solicitor had not dealt with matters correctly or had failed to respond appropriately. This happened several times throughout the transaction and caused unnecessary delays, confusion, and stress.

When I later raised formal concerns, the firm relied heavily on internal call notes to suggest I had been satisfied with the service, while conveniently overlooking the many unanswered emails and communication failures that formed the basis of my complaint. The response felt defensive, biased, and more focused on protecting the firm than genuinely addressing the issues raised.

Overall, I found the service unprofessional, poorly managed, and severely lacking in transparency, communication, and accountability. Buying a property is stressful enough without having to constantly chase your own solicitor and lender for updates or clarification.

I will certainly not be using this firm again.

I note their disagreement with my review; however, I stand by the account I provided, which reflects my genuine experience as a client. The issues raised were based on my direct interactions, the delays encountered, the lack of proactive communication, and the impact these matters had on my transaction.

I also note their statement that they cannot comment publicly due to confidentiality obligations. I fully respect those obligations, but confidentiality does not prevent me from sharing my own experience as a customer.

Having considered their complaints responses, I remain concerned that the process lacked independence and appeared biased in favour of defending the firm’s position rather than objectively addressing the issues raised. In my view, there is no genuinely independent assessment within their internal complaints procedure.

Accordingly, I stand by my feedback and do not wish to engage with the firm further through a process which I do not consider impartial.

Thanks Lilac Law. I have used this company previously and had excellent service. Communication was great and they kept me up to date. Sellers side were dragging their heels sometimes , however Lilac Law were always proactive. I am currently using them for an issue I have with a lease and again communication is great. Thank you to all the team at Lilac Law, can highly recommend.

Originally gave 4 stars as honest review for house purchase completed in Dec 25. Since we moved in we found the garage / garage loft / and house ws full of stuff that was detailed by both party solicitors to be removed. Ben originally asked for photos, itemised lists, skip invoice and evidence of email trails about what was agreed. Completed all this over Christmas to then be told by Ben that they are not that kind of solicitor and would have to go through another law firm to claim for skip hire to remove the goods of the house and possibl small claims. Total waste of my time. There is a contract professionally written for a reason. For it to then be broken and the professional to basically wash their hands of it is very bad after care in my opinion after i had paid for their service.
