We finally got our property yesterday (27/02/2026). At the beginning of the process, Ashley James solicitors were decent but the deeper we got in the process, the more (unnecessary) delays we got into. The most painful part of the entire process was the anti-money laundering checks as we kept getting asked for more and more documents even though we asked if we could be told exactly what was needed upfront.

I’d also highlight the lack of communication too — A simple status update about where we are and what we are waiting on/for would be great instead of having to chase for every single update.

Overall, I’d say that we’d probably look elsewhere and use a different solicitor next time.

Had a very helpful, thorough and professional service from the conveyancing team at Ashley James for buying a property.
I had to transfer solicitors during the buying process due to the previous solicitors going out of business, and they made the process as low-stress as possible!
Very pleased with the comprehensive nature of searches enquiries (which was a big contrast from the previous solicitors) and they have ensured I feel confident and protected in the purchase.

Awful service. Staff not helpful and have had zero contact from the solicitor. Been dealing solely with Rebecca who has been unhelpful. Asking for additional documents and delaying purchase of property. It would have been useful if you could ask for all necessary documentation in one go

I used Ashley James Solicitors for my divorce, and the service I received was great. The contact I had with Amanda was always helpful and prompt. Which is what you need with these situations! Would recommend them highly on this basis, and thank you to Amanda and the team.

Very disappointed with Ashley James, Georgia delt with our sale should have taken no more than12 weeks. After almost 22 weeks and spending almost two hours sorting out missing paperwork ourselves with the purchasers solicitor's which Georgia had but did not bother to do anything with? We finally got a completion date only to be told by a third party that Georgia had left the company with immediate effect without any explanation from Ashley James and then had to deal with someone else taking another 3 weeks to get our cash from the sale. Letter of complaint sent to the company, only to be told they cannot comment due to Georgia leaving her post. Am taking this further to the legal ombudsman as they haven't yet replied to my second complaint email.
