I thought I would use a nice local solicitor as I have a new lease to sign just down the road, transferred £1000 deposit and then waited for landlord paperwork and due to personal issues etc with my landlords family I have experienced a delay, which given the circumstances is something I expected grace with. I kept emailing to say there’s a delay and instead they decided to close my case and keep my money with no warning to tell me that I had a time limit. I have since emailed them 2/3 times and have heard nothing. They are withholding the money I am owed, seriously disappointed considering no work was done. It’s an obvious lack of professionalism especially from a neighbour business

Allegra Canessa dealt with my purchase a few years ago and I couldnt have asked for better service. Super friendly and approachable. The transaction was done quickly and she never gave me any cause for concern throughout. She kept me up to date and explained each step of the process. Thank you so much Allegra.
I have also had advice from Natasha Steele regarding Wills and she was most helpful.
Thank you both.

Edward Steele has to be the most incompetent solicitor I have ever dealt with in my 10 years of buying selling and dealing with property. I purchased a property through auction and the vendors solicitor was Edward Steele. Multiple and repeated attempts were made with him by my solicitor but he purposely ignored my solicitor only so that all the time passed and he could serve a notice to complete and charge me for that. Daylight robbery.

Received a call from Rebecca Hayden from the Esher branch who just had a disgusting attitude when talking to me, just rude and huffing and puffing at me when I was trying to explain something to her. if this is an insight into how the rest of the company is run then I'd stay well away.

Unfriendly, poor service and poor customer experience!
As part of my MVL, I had a Declaration of Solvency to sign off. It took me a 20mins drive by Uber to get there. Once I got at Owen White & Catlin LLP, I realised my printer missed one page of the Declaration of Solvency form. I asked Natasha Steele (the solicitor serving me at that time) if she would kindly print the 1 page form for me as I had it in PDF ready to be forwarded by email.
I was shocked to see that rather than trying to make it work for her customer and print the PDF document, she asked me instead to go back home via Uber ( 20mins drive + 20£ ), print the single page and come back. Please note the Declaration of Solvency sign-off cost only 5£ per page.
This was a very poor quality of service. Modern solicitor offices have a lots printing facilities with digital capability. Asking customer to go back home to print 1 page of PDF document is shocking. This situation could have been easily worked around in so many ways.
Clearly Owen White & Catlin LLP makes little effort to offer their customer the best service experience.
