We were recommended Dawson & Burgess by a close friend when we began the process of buying and selling our home, and choosing them was one of the best decisions we made. From start to finish, everything was completed within just three months, which was far quicker and smoother than we ever expected.
Sandra, Julie, and the whole team were absolutely fantastic throughout. Their communication was exceptional, always keeping us updated and happy to answer any questions we had along the way. What could have been a very stressful experience was made to feel straightforward and manageable because of their professionalism, efficiency, and genuine support.
After hearing so many horror stories about solicitors and property transactions, we were naturally quite anxious going into the process. However, Sandra and Julie immediately made us feel reassured, comfortable, and confident that we were in safe hands. Their calm and friendly approach made such a difference, and thanks to all their hard work, our move went incredibly smoothly.
We honestly cannot thank them enough and would highly recommend Dawson & Burgess to anyone looking for a trustworthy, supportive, and highly professional conveyancing team.

We have been going through a process waiting for probate. This was granted over six months ago ( we had to contact them to find this out).
We were then told it was being passed over to someone else to complete.
No name given, no details given.
My wife has called on 6 occasions over the past 4 months and been told nobody is available and someone will call back.
They haven’t returned one call.
Shocking customer service & down right rude. Would not give any stars if there was the option. AVOID AT ALL COST.
We finally got a call 2 days after posting this review telling us everything we needed to sign was in the post. We signed the firms and my wife took them in to ensure they got there (nobody would have informed us, had we posted them).
They said this could now be completed swiftly.
2 Months later & still NO contact from them.
18 Months of waiting in total.
Absolutely abysmal service.
Quality 0/5
Customer Service 0/5
Communication 0/5
Overall 0/5
As previously stated AVOID AT ALL COST.

I have just had my will updated by this firm of solicitors. The whole process was great. Everything was explained in detail so it was easy to understand. I will recommend them to others. A great experience. Thanks to all involved.

My buyers chose this solicitor and they caused so many issues in selling my property. Repeatedly asking for the same documents we had already sent them (either losing the emails or not reading them at all). Demanding documents that when we managed to get hold of them from other parties were apparently not relevant or were the wrong ones (despite being told that’s what they needed). Raising enquiries that were already resolved at the last minute prior to exchange again. Rude emails sent my solicitor. Being too busy to deal with the transaction and refusing to take phone calls from my estate agent. Nearly lost the sale 2 or 3 times due to them. When they realised they nearly destroyed the transaction, they expected me to exchange and complete within 24 hours notice and for me to move out within this time frame to accommodate them. Only resolved because I managed to speak to my buyers directly to find a solution with them on non legal points. This was a nightmare last 3 months of a 7 month process.

Please read the following if you are thinking of using the conveyancing team at Dawson and Burgess (D&B). This is my experience.
1. Land Registry informed me that a charge on my property was not expedited until one month after my completion date on my purchase. I have brought this to D&B's attention after advice from The Law Society and am awaiting a response
2. Six months after my completion date, D&B sent me overdue documentation and a demand for £60 (not an invoice), saying that they had omitted to charge me this amount for a report
3. Staff on reception (with the exception of one young girl) and in the conveyancing team are rude, even when you are responding to questions FROM them. Note: I did not contact them constantly, allowing them to do their job but was still treated rudely
4. D&B do not use 'signed for' or 'recorded' delivery for any of their letters demanding money (I know - fancy that! A solicitor not being able to work that one out!)
