I recently instructed Thomson Webb & Corfield in connection with the purchase of a property and, overall, I have been pleased with the service I received.
The onboarding process was straightforward. After expressing my intention to instruct the firm, a member of the team promptly contacted me. In my case, Phil Howe reached out and explained the process, the likely timeline, and the information that would be required. He was professional, polite, and particularly calm, which helped make the early stages of the transaction feel far less intimidating.
One aspect of the firm’s service that I particularly appreciated was their willingness to answer questions. Purchasing a property is a significant financial commitment, and it is natural for buyers to have concerns.
Whenever I raised questions, the team took the time to respond thoughtfully and explain matters in a way that was accessible without being patronising. They also the time to obtain all information possible to make their answers to my queries as informed as possible.
My advice to prospective clients would be to do their homework and ask the questions that matter to them. Conveyancing is not a passive process. The more engaged you are, the more you will understand about the property you are purchasing and the legal issues that may affect it.
In my experience, Alison Blackman went the extra mile to address genuine concerns and explain the reasoning behind her advice. I found this particularly valuable because I prefer understanding why decisions are being made rather than simply accepting recommendations at face value. Also being of a law background myself, my questions were not particularly straightforward, but the quality of advice did not wane.
Alison Blackman and her team demonstrated a strong attention to detail throughout the process. While some delays were unavoidable, I was always kept updated as matters progressed and the firm was actively working towards completion.

Alison was absolutely fantastic, always communicative and very professional, I do wish a lot of firms were the same but her proactive was a blessing and overall a lovely lady who get's the job done! We were very pleased with Alison and her team at TWC, they handled our house sale with the minimum amount of stress to ourselves during a difficult time. They were efficient and we very much felt they were working in our best interests the whole time. Communication was excellent. We have no hesitation in recommending TWC.

I would highly recommend Thomson Webb & Corfield. The team was prompt, efficient and very supportive throughout the whole process.
As first-time buyers, we had many questions, and Kelly Hall was excellent at responding quickly and explaining everything clearly. While they may be a little more expensive than some other solicitors, their professionalism, responsiveness and speed made the whole experience much smoother and gave us real peace of mind.
